Hi! I am Jerussa Lapeyre and this is a quick introduction as to who I am, what I do, and what this blog is going to be about.

Lets start with whom I am. I am a woman in my mid-20s who recently graduated college and is looking to really start her career doing something she likes. However, this describes many women, so what makes me different from the other millions of women in similar situations?

For one my name because I have yet to find someone with same name or even given name, but I also have a unique character that was created through my experiences of being of part of two different cultures and how that has affect me professionally, how having a full time job and going to college full time has shaped my attitude towards my professional environment and how I should be treated as a employee, and so much more. You will get to know more the more I post.

As for what I do, at the time I am writing this post I am employed as a receptionist and yes I do more than just answer phones all 7.5 hours of my shift. In fact this job is where I am going to get most of the material for this blog because this is the job I have learned the most from. Not just hard skills like Adobe Photoshop or Microsoft Excel, but soft skills such as how to deal with people being rude to you in the workplace, and communicating to an authority figure (in most cases your boss) that there is a problem.

As you might already get the hint that this blog is basically going to be about. I want to share my experience and growth as a professional and provide short posts for graduates that are finding themselves in a similar situations and hopefully can help them navigate them.

Well... technically that is what the articles feature on LinkedIn is for, but because these posts will be more informal than writing an article with that pertains to a general topic. That's not to say I will not be referencing articles and and statistics, but not to the point of making it an essay.

So now that you know who I am, what I do, and what my intentions for this blog are lets get started.
